Educational kits are the simplest way to grow mushrooms quickly and successfully in a non-sterile environment.
You will receive a sterilized substrate growing kit in a breathing Microbox, the center point of which has been inoculated with powerful mother culture. From this point, the mycelium will start growing and gradually invade the whole substrate (pictures 1 to 3). This process takes about one month.
In the following phase, the substrate will mature (pic 4) over a period of about two months.
In the final phase, the substrate will start fruiting and form mushrooms (pic 5 and 6). You will be able to pick them when they have reached full maturity, this is when the Shiitakes have flattened at the edges.
The periods above are only indicative in growing conditions at room temperature. The real process may be slower or faster depending on your specific conditions. Growing kits are sold when they are just inoculated, but we allow exceptions on the rule time permitting.
