Oyster Mushrooms

Florida Oyster Mushroom
Pleurotus ostreatus var. florida

Strain: M 2125

Pleurotus ostreatus - florida oyster mushroom

Trumps:

  • good cultivation results at temperatures above 20°C
  • numerous fruiting bodies - carpophores

Characteristics:

This summer strain forms numerous groups of primordia, distributed over the entire substrate. They develop into medium size (average 5 cm diam.), funnel-shaped fruitbodies with elongated stems. Their colour varies, with increasing light intensity and temperature, from light-beige to greyish blue. The shelf life of the mushrooms is inversely proportional to the cultivation temperature.

Blue Oyster Mushroom, wild strain
Pleurotus ostreatus var. columbinus

Strain: M 2136

  M2136

Qualities:

  • nice and dark fruit bodies of superior quality
  • good storage

Characteristics:

This wild variety of Pleurotus ostreatus generates voluminous tufts of bright-blue to brown-grey fruit bodies. These are firmly fleshed (cap diam. 8 à 10 cm.) and therefore perfectly storable.  Due to the less aggressive mycelium there is an increased risk of infections.

Winter Oyster Mushroom
Pleurotus ostreatus

Strain: M 2153

M2153

Trumps:

  • good cultivation results at temperatures till 20°C
  • rapid production of numerous carpophores

Characteristics:

This strain is an interesting alternative to regular Winter Oyster Mushroom strains when a rapid production is requested.  Numerous groups of primordia appear a few days after the incubation period is finished. The diam. of the carpophores, the fruitbody- quality and the intensity of the colour are inversely proportional to the cultivation temperature.

Pleurotus ostreatus

Strain: M 2175

M2175

Trumps:

  • quick growing
  • high yield
  • stores well

Characteristics:

This strain forms numerous clusters of regularly formed short-stemmed fruitbodies which are grey-blue to grey-brown in colour and average 9 cm in diameter. At temperatures of 18°C and above, the brown tones will dominate and the mushrooms will be smaller in size with longer stems.

This Oyster Mushroom has a good taste and stores extremely well.

Strain: M 2181

Pleurotus Ostreatus M 2181 spawn substrate Mycelia

Qualities:

  • rapidly growing species
  • very high yield
  • excellent quality of the fruit bodies

Characteristics:

Overall, M 2181 is comparable to M 2191, so it also appears as a typical Pleurotus ostreatus, but is known for fruiting more very heavily in less numerous clusters shaded grey-blue (temperature below 15°C) to grey-brown. These are big, thick (diam. 8 à 12 cm) and short-stemmed.  They are very tasty and they preserve well.

Trumps:

  • decorative species
  • slight anise taste
  • rapid production

Characteristics:

Easy-to-grow oyster mushroom.  Because of their funnel-like shape and yellow colour remind of cantharells.  Tightly clustered fruit bodies (4- 7 cm diam.) are gathered centrally or ex-centrically on a thin stem.  For a maximum storage capacity they need to be harvested before the full development of the cap sides.
